[DoD] DOD CASUALTY UPDATE No. 479-01

DOD CASUALTY UPDATE
October 02, 2001
The Department of Defense confirmed today that the following people were killed as a result of the attack on the Pentagon. This brings to 93 the number of unaccounted victims positively identified, not including the individual who later succumbed to wounds suffered in the attack. 

Army:

Dr. Gerald Fisher, Department of the Army contractor, Booz-Allen and Hamilton, 57, Potomac, Md.

Spec. Chin Sun Pak, U.S. Army, 24, Okla.

Sgt. Maj. Larry L. Strickland, U.S. Army, 52, Wash.

Sgt. Tamara C. Thurman, U.S. Army, 25, Ala.

Navy:

Mr. Jerry Moran, Department of the Navy contractor, 39, Upper Marlboro, Md.

As a result of the attack, 125 people were killed or remain unaccounted, not including the 64 passengers on the plane. To date, 118 remains have been recovered and transported to Dover Air Force Base, Del. for identification.
