DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Staff Sgt. Jeremy R. Horton, 24, of Erie, Penn., died May 21, 2004 in near Al Iskandariyah, Iraq when an improvised explosive device exploded. Horton was assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.

The incident is under investigation.
