2005

  • Iraq holds elections for a National Assembly to serve as an interim government and to draft a new constitution. Most Sunnis boycott.

2007

  • 1st Marine Logistics Group (1st MLG) transferred authority and responsibilities of the logistics combat element within Iraq’s Al Anbar Province to 2d MLG. 1st MLG suffered the loss of 18 Marines during the deployment.
