- Start of Operation Eagle Liberty 3 in Iraq
2005
- Marines from 2d Battalion, 10th Marines, started returning to Camp Lejeune following a seven-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Marines of Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 452 also returned from Iraq on 25 February.
2008
- Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen James T. Conway, and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, SgtMaj Carlton Kent, paid a visit to Marines serving in Iraq at Camp Taqaddum and the surrounding area. The town hall-style meetings allowed Marines to discuss issues ranging from new rules regarding tattoos to dealing with battlefield stress.
