DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died of injuries sustained in Misiab, Iraq on April 12, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV during combat operations. The soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Killed were:
Cpl. Scott M. Bandhold, 37, of North Merrick, N.Y.
Spc. Roland E. Calderon-Ascencio, 21, of Miami, Fla.
