National Guard and Reserve Mobilized as of August 4, 2004
August 04, 2004
This week the Army and Air Force announced a decrease in the number of reservists on active duty in support of the partial mobilization. The Navy and Marine Corps announced an increase, and the Coast Guard total remains unchanged. The net collective result is 103 fewer reservists on active duty than last week.
At any given time, services may mobilize some units and individuals while demobilizing others, making it possible for these figures to either increase or decrease. Total number currently on active duty in support of the partial mobilization for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 123,358; Naval Reserve 3,107; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 11,405; Marine Corps Reserve, 11,195; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 1,546. This brings the total National Guard and Reserve on active duty to 150,611 including both units and individual augmentees.
A cumulative roster of all National Guard and Reserve who are currently on active duty can be found at http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Aug2004/d20040804.pdf.
