DOD Identifies Unit for Upcoming Afghanistan Rotation

The Department of Defense announced today a unit to deploy for one year as part of the upcoming rotation of forces operating in Afghanistan. The announcement involves more than 2,800 soldiers of the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. The scheduled deployment date for this unit is January 2012.

DoD will continue to announce major deployments as they are approved.
