DOD to Host Pentagon Community 9/11 Observance
September 07, 2012

 

The Director of Administration and Management Michael L. Rhodes will host a remembrance ceremony at 2 p.m. EDT on Sept. 11, in the Pentagon’s center courtyard. Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta; Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. James A. Winnefeld Jr.; and Mr. Rhodes will provide remarks at this event. This ceremony is an opportunity for the Pentagon community to come together in observance of the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

The event is open to confirmed correspondents and photographers; pooled for TV. Registration is required due to space limitations. Secretary Panetta, Mr. Rhodes and Adm. Winnefeld will not be available for interviews. Correspondents and photographers wanting to cover this event must RSVP to [email protected] no later than noon, Monday, Sept. 10 to receive specific instructions.

This event will be televised and streamed live via the Pentagon Channel and www.pentagonchannel.mil .
