Statement from Defense Secretary Ash Carter on Terrorist Bombings in Istanbul

On behalf of the Department of Defense, I want to convey my deepest condolences to the families of the victims in Saturday’s cowardly terrorist attack in Istanbul. This attack only redoubles our resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Turkish allies in condemning these attacks and relentlessly combatting terrorism. We remain firmly committed to working closely with Turkey within NATO and the counter-ISIL coalition as well as bilaterally to combat such threats to security and stability.
