Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Colin Kahl hosted Iraqi Minister of Defense, His Excellency Juma’a Inad Saadoon al-Jaburi at the Pentagon today to reaffirm the importance of the U.S.-Iraq bilateral security relationship and discuss the future of the strategic partnership.

Both leaders praised the progress in the fight against ISIS, emphasized their shared commitment to the Defeat-ISIS mission, and underscored the need for U.S. and Coalition personnel to be able to safely support the Iraqi Security Forces.

The Defense Minister is in Washington as part of Prime Minister Kadhimi’s delegation.
