PRESS RELEASE | April 25, 2008
Camp Bucca meal availability
By None , MNFI
BAGHDAD (April 25, 2008) — Providing for the welfare of our troops is a top priority for Task Force 134 Detainee Operations and all commanders in the United States armed forces.
In the case of the Camp Bucca guard force, the troops are well fed. There is no basis for claims otherwise.
The families of the soldiers serving at Camp Bucca need to know that media reports of soldiers at Camp Bucca not being properly fed are untrue.
Here are the facts:
• The Camp Bucca Dining Facility is open 24-7.
• 10,000 carry-out meals in Styrofoam “clam shells” are prepared daily and provided to the service members on guard shifts.
• Also, a one day supply of MRE’s (“Meals Ready to Eat” or field rations) is maintained in the Theater Internment Facility for guard force/personnel.
