Militants fail to carry out suicide mission in Nimruz

KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police, assisted by Coalition Forces, escaped harm from a vehicle-borne suicide bomber March 14 in Khas Road District, Nimruz Province.

The combined elements were conducting a combat reconnaissance patrol in the area when a vehicle driving past them on the opposite side of the road detonated. The convoy received no injuries or damage; however, the driver and his car were destroyed. The ANP continued on with their mission of securing the area.
