U.S. General Mattis consults Pakistan leaders

Islamabad (June 7, 2011) – U.S. Central Command Commander Gen. James Mattis visited Pakistan to consult with Pakistan’s military leadership.
During his visit, Gen. Mattis met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Wynne, and other Pakistani military officials. The purpose of his visit was to exchange views on regional security issues.
Gen. Mattis also met with the U.S. ambassador, Cameron Munter.
This is Gen Mattis’ fourth visit to Pakistan in his 10 months as CENTCOM commander.
