U.S. General James Mattis consults Pakistan Leaders

TAMPA, Fla. (November 13, 2011) — U.S. Central Command Commander Gen. James Mattis departed Pakistan yesterday after visiting and consulting with senior Pakistani military and security officials. Gen. Mattis discussed regional military cooperation and highlighted the many sacrifices of the Pakistani military as a result of their ongoing operations in the tribal areas.
Gen. Mattis’ visit to Pakistan is part of a multi-country trip to increase his awareness of regional issues and discuss the continued need to work together to counter violent extremists.
