KABUL, Afghanistan, July 25, 2017 – Yesterday, a Taliban terrorist attack targeted law enforcement officers in Lahore, Pakistan. More than 25 people were killed and over 50 were wounded in the bombing.
The attack targeted police officers who were guarding a demolition site on the outskirts of the city. The Tehrik-e-Taliban group claimed responsibility for the bombing.
“We strongly condemn this barbaric attack on law enforcement officers and innocent civilians,” said Gen. John Nicholson, Resolute Support Mission commander. “All terror attacks, regardless of where they occur are an affront to humanity.
“The entire Resolute Support community mourns with the Pakistani people and the colleagues and families of those killed in this attack. We hope for a quick recovery for those who were wounded,” Nicholson said.
