  • Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced that major combat activity had come to an end in Afghanistan. He stated that the focus would move into stabilization and reconstruction activities and that the military would stay involved in the efforts.
  • Husam Muhammad Amin captured. He was the 6 of Clubs in Iraq’s Most Wanted Deck of Playing Cards.
