Governor Schwarzenegger Issues Statement on Death of Twentynine Palms Marine Lance Cpl. Aric J. Barr

Governor Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement regarding the death of Lance Cpl. Aric J. Barr, of Allegheny, PA, who was stationed at Twentynine Palms, CA:

“When a young man’s life is lost while fighting to protect the freedoms of his country, it is truly a great tragedy. Aric will be missed by all who knew him. Maria and I send our prayers to his family.”

Lance Cpl. Barr, 22, died April 4, due to injuries received from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, CA.

In Honor of Lance Cpl. Barr, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
