Coalition vehicle accident reportedly injures two Afghans KABUL, Afghanistan – Two Afghan civilians were reportedly injured as a result of a Coalition vehicle accident in Kabul today. The traffic accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m.
As a result of the accident, a crowd gathered at the scene and blocked the road, throwing stones at Afghan National Police and Coalition vehicles, damaging at least one Coalition vehicle.
“We offer our apologies to those injured during today’s accident,” said Col. Jerry O’Hara, U.S. Forces Afghanistan spokesperson. “Our operations are to protect the Afghan people and we are examining our practices to ensure we prevent accidents like this in the future.” The incident is under investigation.

United States Forces Afghanistan’s mission, in coordination with NATO’s International Security Assistance Force, is to conduct operations to defeat terrorist networks and insurgents by developing effective governance and building the Afghan National Security Force.
