Combined forces stop attack on coalition base

KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National police and Coalition forces killed

three insurgents after they attempted an attack on a forward operating

base in Nahr Surkh, Hemmand Province, Wednesday.

A group of insurgents attacked a forward operating base with

small arms and rocket propelled grenade fire. One rocket impacted

inside the base. No injuries or damages resulted in this incident.

The combined forces maneuvered to the origin of the attack where

they positively identified and engaged a group of armed militants with

small arms fire, killing three. There were no civilian, Afghan or

Coalition forces casualties.
