Tim attended Helmers Street Christian School in Houston, Texas; Donna Park Elementary School in Hurst, Texas; Rusk Elementary, Junior High and High School in Rusk, Texas. As a junior, he moved to Alvin, Texas with his family where he graduated from Alvin High School. While in high school, Tim played baseball, ran track, served as PALS president, was a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Tim was very involved in each of the communities where his family lived, working as a volunteer, traveling out of the country on mission trips, and assisting where needed in his church and school.
Tim applied for and received a NROTC scholarship to Texas A&M where he served as a company chaplain for just a year and a half. After his short time at A&M, Tim decided to follow his older brother to West Point in the fall of 2002. While at West Point, Tim received several awards and recognitions and made hundreds of lifelong friends. He and a couple of his friends even took a backpacking trip to the Rob Roy Trail in Scotland during one of his spring breaks. Many of Tim’s friends are currently serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and in other countries around the world. Tim’s greatest joy was working with the Officer’s Christian Fellowship and with Cadet Chapel Sunday school, giving back to the professors and fellow officers by ministering to their children.
Tim graduated from West Point in May, 2006. Immediately after graduation, Tim married his high school sweetheart, Samantha Ann Morgenroth. After their honeymoon, Tim and Samantha moved to Ft. Benning, Georgia so that Tim could complete the Infantry Officer Basic Course, and prepare for Ranger School. Tim completed Ranger School in March of 2007 and immediately after graduation, Abigail Lynn Cunningham was born. Tim, Sam and Abigail moved to Ft. Campbell in April 2007 where Tim joined the 1-32 Cavalry to serve as a platoon leader. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 6 pm to 8 pm and a service honoring Lt.
