DOD ANNOUNCES CHANGE IN MARINE CASUALTY STATUS

The Department of Defense announced today it has changed the status of Marine Sgt. Brendon C. Reiss from Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN) to killed in action. Reiss, 23, of Casper, Wyo., was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C. His unit was engaged in operations on the outskirts of An Nasiriyah on 23 March. His remains were identified on April 11.
