DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died in Baghdad, Iraq, on May 15, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their vehicle during combat patrol operations. Both soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, Fort Carson, Colo.
Killed were:
Staff Sgt. Marion Flint Jr., 29, of Baltimore, Md.
Pfc. Grant A. Dampier, 25, of Merrill, Wis.
