DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Evan S. Parker, 25, of Arkansas, Kan., died at Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, on Oct. 26, of injuries sustained in Balad, Iraq, on Oct. 23, when his dismounted patrol was attacked by enemy forces who threw an explosive device from their moving vehicle. Parker was an Army Reserve soldier assigned to the Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery Regiment, 20th Brigade Combat Team, Honolulu, Hawaii.
