DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Capt. Michael J. Mackinnon, 30, of Helena, Mont., died on Oct. 27, in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. Mackinnon was a regular Army soldier assigned to the Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry Regiment, Modesto, Calif.
