DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Cpl. Derek A. Stanley, 20, of Tulsa, Okla., died in Salerno, Afghanistan, on June 5, from a non-combat related cause. Stanley was assigned to the 710th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.

This incident is under investigation.
