DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. 1st Class. Issac S. Lawson, 35, of Sacramento, Calif., died in Baghdad, Iraq, on June 5, of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. Lawson was assigned to the National Guard’s 49th Military Police Brigade, Fairfield, Calif.
