DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Lauro G. DeLeon Jr., 20, of Floresville, Texas, died Sept. 8 in Balad, Iraq, when improvised explosive devices detonated near his convoy. DeLeon was assigned to the Army Reserves 644th Transportation Company, Beaumont, Texas.
The incident is under investigation.
