DoD Identifies Navy Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Petty Officer 2nd Class David S. Roddy, 32, of Aberdeen, Md., died Sept. 16 while his unit was conducting combat operations against enemy forces in the Al Anbar province, Iraq.

Roddy was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Two in Norfolk, Va., and was serving with Multi-National Corps – Iraq.
