NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVE MOBILIZED AS OF MAY 1
May 01, 2002
This week the Air Force announces an increase of 291 reservists on active duty in support of the partial mobilization. The Army, Navy and Marine Corps each announce decreases of reservists on active duty. The net collective result is 691 fewer reservists than last week.
At any given time, services may mobilize some units and individuals while demobilizing others, making it possible for these figures to either increase or decrease. Total number currently on active duty in support of the partial mobilization for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 28,013; Naval Reserve, 9,629; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 37,451; Marine Corps Reserve, 4,380; and the Coast Guard Reserve 1,762. This brings the total Reserve and National Guard on active duty to 81,235 including both units and individual augmentees.
A cumulative roster of all National Guard and Reserve who are currently on active duty can be found at http://www.defenselink.mil/news/May2002/d20020501ngr.pdf.
