Lance Cpl. Jeffrey D. Walker June 12, 1985 – May 14, 2007 -WILLIAMSON – Lance Cpl. Jeffrey D. Walker, age 21, of Williamson, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007 from injuries he received in the Iraq War. -Jeffrey was born on June 12, 1985 in Macon (Bibb County), Georgia. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Auera. Jeffrey was a member of The Rock Tabernacle Church in Griffin and 2004 graduate of Pike County High School. Jeffrey joined the United States Marines and was on his second tour in Iraq. -Survivors include his 5-month-old son, Conner Wesley Young; mother and stepfather, Teresa and Michael Rutledge of Williamson; father and stepmother, James D. and Catherine Walker of Cordele; sisters, Kelly Otto, Kasey Walker; grandparents, Frances and Charles Durham of Griffin, Harold Barnett of Hampton, Dorothy Anne Walker of Cordele, James Donald and Linda Walker of Gray; great grandparents, Mary Lynch of Griffin, Mildred Barron of Hampton; Dorothy Loraine Phillips; step-grandparents, Mary Hancock of Griffin, Waymon Rutledge of Griffin; aunts and uncles, James Donald Walker, Jr. of Macon, Faye Starley of Cordele, Elaine Richardson of Vienna, Edwin Richardson of Vienna, Shiela Dayton of Macon, Jennifer and Rob Schiller of Seabeck, Washington, JoAnne Whitener of Macon, Sandy Whitener of Macon, Kim and Darrell Sheppard of Mississippi, Susan Maddron of Griffin, Keith and Christy Patten of Griffin, Jody and Dawn Rutledge of Griffin; nieces and nephew, Dylan, Hope and Grace; numerous cousins among them, Brittany Ingebretson and Jordan “Tater” Johnson. -Funeral services for Lance Cpl. Jeffrey D. Walker will be conducted Monday at 2P.M. at Griffin First Assembly of God, 2000 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin. Reverend Riley Fenley will officiate. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Section of the Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
