ANSF, Coalition forces capture insurgent leader in Khost province

KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces detained Hakim Jan, a key insurgent leader in an early morning raid in Seyyed Khel village, Khost province, Nov. 19.

Jan is responsible for the deaths of ANSF members and improvised-explosive device attacks on Coalition forces.

“ANSF members continue to search for those individuals that do not have the best interest of the people of Afghan at heart,” said Gen. Mohammed Azimi, Chief spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

The combined forces conducted the raid with minimal impact to the detainee or surrounding populace. Jan was detained within minutes of the combined forces entering his residence. No shots were fired.
