Coalition forces disrupt the Haqqani network in Khost

KABUL, Afghanistan – Coalition forces detained nine suspected militants during an operation aimed at further destroying the Haqqani terrorist network in Khost province Thursday.

The operation in Khost District, approximately 150 km southeast of Kabul, targeted a Haqqani militant believed to facilitate attacks against local civilians, as well as Afghan and Coalition forces. Intelligence also suggests the militant facilitates and coordinates the movement of Islamic Jihadist Union and other foreign fighters into eastern Afghanistan.
