DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Specialist Darius T. Jennings, 22 of Cordova, S.C., was killed on Nov. 2. Jennings was on board a CH-47 Chinook helicopter when it went down in Al Fallujah, Iraq.

Jennings was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based in Fort Carson, Colo.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time and an investigation is underway.
