Lance Cpl. Andrew Julian Aviles, 18, of Palm Beach, Fla., who was killed on April 7 in Central Iraq when an enemy artillery round struck the Amphibious Assault Vehicle in which he was riding. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve assigned to the 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Tampa, Fla.
Cpl. Jesus Martin Antonio Medellin, 21, of Fort Worth, Texas, who was killed on April 7 in Central Iraq when an enemy artillery round struck the Amphibious Assault Vehicle in which he was riding. He was assigned to the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
1st Sgt. Edward Smith, 38, of Chicago, Ill., who died April 5 in Doha, Qatar as a result of wounds received in action. He was wounded while engaged with enemy forces in Central Iraq on April 4. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
