The following are events related to the Global War On Terrorism (GWOT) that took place on this day.

2004

  • Hovercraft and helicopters began unloading hundreds of Iraq-bound Marines and their gear into Kuwait from Navy ships. Marines from I MEF sent advance troops for on-the-spot lessons from the leaving Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and set the groundwork for the rest of the unit which was set to arrive a few weeks later.

  • Operation River Blitz in Iraq.

  • Operation Dirty Harry in Iraq
