Sgt. Jason J. McCluskey, 26, a 2004 McAlester High graduate and U.S. Army paratrooper, gave the ultimate sacrifice when he was killed in action on Nov. 4 while serving his country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

“Sgt. McCluskey laid down his life for his friends, his battle buddies, his unit, our Army and our Nation,” said Maj. Gen. Rodney O. Anderson, XVIII Airborne Corps DCG at McCluskey’s Saturday memorial service in McAlester. “Our Army and Nation will be forever indebted to Sgt. McCluskey for his service.”
